The date for the HK Society Gloucestershire Spring Lunch has now been fixed: Wednesday 4 March. It will, as always, be at the Golden Mountain. The date is, of course, just before the Gold Cup week; and the year that we shall be welcoming is that of the Fire Horse. It is not beyond the bounds of possibility that those who have properly celebrated the opening of the New Year will be rewarded at the race course ………!       

More details (including (modest) costs, payment procedures, timings for firming up bookings etc) will follow, but for now please RSVP to advise whether (or not) you would like to join the lunch. Members of the HK Society who live in and around Gloucestershire or who have attended our events previously have priority booking for a fortnight, so please let me know as soon as possible and in any case by Friday 16 January ; thereafter this opportunity will be opened up to local non-members. Once I have got takers for all available seats (so exclusive!), I will maintain a waiting list

Please make a special effort to come if you have horsey connections: born 1942 or some number of times twelve years thereafter, member of pony club, part of racehorse owning consortium etc), not least because of the dynamic energy, willingness to experiment with new initiatives, and passion associated with those born in this year!

I shall look forward to hearing from you, and to seeing a substantial proportion of you on 4 March. It will be fun, delicious and other good adjectives ... as it always is!
