Dragon Boat Festival Seminar

We are delighted to have ex-HongKonger, Jo Ruxton MBE (click here to read about Jo’s amazing career), founder of Ocean Generation and producer of the award-winning BBC series, Blue Planet, as a key speaker, together with HSBC’s Head of Sustainability, Credit & Lending, Susan Urkevich.

The Dragon Boat Festival is of the four main festivals in Chinese culture globally. Protecting people from sickness was the original purpose of the festival, warding off evil spirits and giving thanks to the river dragon, the most powerful water spirit. It is not so fanciful to cast human activity as the evil spirits now causing the sickness in our oceans and water supplies. What better way to present offerings to the water dragon than to learn about solutions which will prevent ongoing environmental damage?

If you wish to learn more about the myriad viable solutions available now to mitigate the environmental damage we humans are inflicting on one of the Earth’s greatest carbon sinks – our oceans, please join us at what promises to be a fun as well as informative event.

This event is for members only. Please contact Fiona at communications@hkas.org.uk to register.
